Do participants have to come for the whole weekend?


Yes, but the days are not particularly long, and there will be breaks.

The hours for the festival are:

Saturday, 11 August: 9am-3pm

Sunday, 12 August: 9am-1pm, with concert from 1-2pm




What are the mass choir songs?


The mass choir will be singing three songs together. The lyrics, music and rehearsal tracks for these songs can be found on the Resources page of this website. This is accessible only to festival participants.

What should I do to prepare before August?


Please use the Resources page to download the lyrics and rehearsal tracks for the mass choir songs.

International students are invited to join one of our community choirs for their rehearsals (not compulsory). Please ask the Raise Your Voiceco-ordinator at your language school for a list of choirs.

Individual registrants are invited to join a community choir group as well. Once you are registered, you will be sent a list of choirs which you can choose from.




Will there be any chance to practice before the festival?


Yes. In the fortnight before the festival, there will be one mass choir rehearsal evening. Please check the website closer to the date for details.




What should I wear if I’m participating in the festival?


Black pants or skirt for the concert on Sunday.

You will receive a Raise Your Voice t-shirt on the Saturday, as part of your registration. Please wear this for the concert.




Will there be any mass choir rehearsals before the festival?


Yes. In the fortnight before the festival, there will be one mass choir rehearsal evening. Please check the website closer to the date for details.




Can anyone come to watch the concert?


Yes, absolutely. It’s free, and anyone is welcome to come and watch. Bring a picnic blanket or a couple of camp chairs, relax and enjoy the singing!




What should I bring if I’m participating in the festival?


Recommended: water, pencil, snacks, and a black music folder if you need to hold the lyrics
